Description
Le foilsiú An Leabhar Aifrinn Rómhánach, ar leagan Gaeilge é dea tríú heagrán den Missale Romanum, tá tugtha le chéile sa díolaim seo, den chéad uair, suim cóirithe Aifrinn coitianta, curtha in oiriúint go cuí, mar aon le ceol a cumadh ó faomhadh an t-aistriúchán nua.
Tabharfaidh éisteoirí faoi deara go dtugann an leagan deireanach líon áirithe taifeadtaí difriúla ó fhoinsí éagsúla le chéile a bhfuil codarsnachtaí soiléire stíle agus fuaime eatarthu. Ba cheart a chur san áireamh gurb é an tseanfhoclaíocht atá i gceist i gcuid de na taifeadtaí a rinneadh roimhe seo, agus gurb é an t-aistriúchán oifigiúil atá ina hionad sa téacs clóbhuailte. Ionas nach gcaillfí na seantaifeadtaí, ba cheart na hathruithe cuí a dhéanamh nuair atá na téacsanna seo á gcanadh sa liotúirge naofa.
Prepared by the National Centre for Liturgy, in association with the Advisory Committee on Church Music of the Bishops’ Conference of Ireland, this anthology of music for the Irish Church is a resource for all involved in music ministry and for all who gather to celebrate the Eucharist.
With the publication of An Leabhar Aifrinn Rómhánach, translating the third edition of the Missale Romanum, this anthology brings together, for the first time, a number of well-known Mass settings, suitably adapted, as well as music composed since the new translation was approved.
Listeners will notice that the final version brings together a number of different recordings from various sources, with obvious contrasts of style and acoustic. It should be noted too that some of the previous recordings include the older wording which has been replaced in the printed text by the official translation. Rather than lose the older recordings the appropriate adjustments should be made when singing these texts in the sacred liturgy.
