Customer Reviews
A beautifully honest narrative of a profound loss compounded by the shell shock we all experienced in the first couple of months of living with Covid-19. The author paints a vivid picture of what she experienced after the loss of her beloved father, and what she was deprived of experiencing due to the pandemic restrictions. Despite the sadness conveyed in these chapters, the book also speaks to the hope inside us all and how a parent’s spirit can live on in those they leave behind.
— Anne Gaynor
A relatable, comforting and emotional read for someone who has also lost a beloved father.
— Maria Griffin
A heartfelt read, about the raw grief experienced on loosing a loved one. A story of our times dealing with loss in a pandemic and being robbed of the right to grieve in our traditional way. A truly wonderful read that so many will relate to.
— Catherine Lawlor
A beautiful book written straight from the heart of a daughter who loved her Dad dearly. There is no right or wrong way to grieve the loss of a parent, however the process of grieving during the Covid 19 pandemic was even more challenging. Majella recounts her heartfelt emotions in a very real and honest way in this book.

Description
The death of a loved one is one of the most challenging psychological and emotional events that we experience in the course of our lifetimes. Grief can be overwhelming and unpredictable, and coupled with the uncertainty caused by an event such as the Covid-19 pandemic, it can be more pronounced.
A Grieving Daughter’s Heart is an honest and raw recollection of the deep loss felt by a daughter who lost her father to cancer during the Covid-19 pandemic. Isolated from her normal support networks and restricted in the ways she could celebrate the life of her father, Majella turned to writing to process her grief. This book faces head on that which is too often ignored: the reality of grief, its ebb and flow. Written in real time, A Grieving Daughter’s Heart catalogues in vivid detail Majella’s struggle to come to terms with her loss while experiencing the collective grief brought on by the worldwide pandemic, giving voice to the experience of so many.
