Description
The overall theme of the Congress was The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and With One Another. In advance of the Congress, a Theological and Pastoral Reflection on this theme was prepared by the Theology Commission of IEC2012, and it was on the basis of that reflection, which is published here, that the Pastoral preparation for the Congress and the Congress Programme itself was prepared.
Each of the days from Monday to Saturday had a specific theme related to the overall theme of the Congress, and these daily themes were reflected in the keynote addresses of the day (the homilies, catechesis and testimonies), which were presented in the main arena.
The daily themes were as follows:
- Monday: Communion and Baptism
- Tuesday: Communion, Marriage and Family (family day)
- Wednesday: Communion and Ministry, Ordained and Lay
- Thursday: Communion and Reconciliation
- Friday: Communion, Suffering and Healing
- Saturday: Communion in the Word, through Mary
