When a near death experience whilst falling from a 70ft waterfall in Thailand transformed his life, Alan Field gave up a life of crime to become a filmmaker, going on to win numerous awards including a Bafta (BBC1 The Street)
After he had completed his first pilgrimage, The Road to Santiago, an 800km walk along the ancient Camino de Santiago, Alan now finds himself walking a more recent pilgrimage to Knock in County Mayo, Ireland..
Starting out over thirty years ago as a peace pilgrimage from Derry in Northern Ireland, this pilgrimage now has four routes which leaves from Cork, Belfast and Cork with 100’s of pilgrims walking to the Holy Shrine of Knock. The film will follow Alan as he attempts to accept his newly found faith, and understand more about the Holy Mother Mary with each step taken along the powerful Road to Knock.
