Marie Dunne a native of Dublin, is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Faith. She is a past pupil of Saint Brigid’s and Saint Mary’s Holy Faith Schools, Killester, Dublin.

In her earlier years of ministry, she was involved in Primary Education both in teaching and administration. She has spent time in the area of chaplaincy and pastoral care at Second level and Third level education (which included working as Chaplain at Mater Dei Institute of Education, Dublin.)

Music and liturgy have been central to Marie’s life for many years. She studied music from a very young age and developed a love for church and liturgical music in the years that followed, availing of many opportunities to study the above.

Over the years, Marie has had wide musical experience, mainly in the area of church music. She has worked with parish choirs, both as musical director and/or organist. She has been involved in the Dublin Diocese in a variety of ways through liturgy.

Marie has directed the Saint John of God Provincial Choir for many years. In 2015, she re-formed and now directs the Holy Faith Past Pupils’ Choir.

Marie has been a composer of liturgical and spiritual music for over 25 years. She has composed a number of Mass settings, in addition to music for some national and international events. Such compositions include music for her own Congregation, for the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, and for a number of other Religious Congregations.

Much of Marie’s music has been sung on the RTE
