Amen To The Body of Christ

by Michel Guimont

Established text writer Delores Dufner (The Glimmer of Glory in Song) has collaborated with Canadian composer Michel Guimont (Lectionary Psalms) on a collection of eight new Communion songs. Dufner's extensive and thoughtful use of Scripture and Guimont's musical artistry are combined for a volume of songs no church choir library should be without.

All of the songs are set for SATB voices and assembly, some with additional descants. But they are versatile enough that they work well with just cantor and congregation. A smaller choir can make use of these gems, singing only the melodies and descants. The keyboard accompaniments are playable on organ or piano—one setting even includes accompaniments for both. Reprint boxes for assembly use can be found on the final pages of this edition. The table of contents provides helpful information about the themes of the texts and which Sundays or seasons are most appropriate for their use.

Contents: Alleluia, Risen Christ - Amen to the Body of Christ - Bread of Life, Cup of Blessing - Brightness of Beauty - For Countless Blessings - God's Banquet - In the Breaking of the Bread - Jesus, Ever-Flowing Fountain.
