Humans of the World Meeting of Families Launch Night

Humans of the World Meeting of Families.

On Friday 18th September, culture night, Bishop Denis Nulty virtually launched  'Humans of the World Meeting of Families', edited by Brenda Drumm and published by Veritas.

Bishop Denis Nulty spoke beautifully about the stories of the people in Humans of the World Meeting of Families.

“This is a splendid production, sharply designed by Veritas and very well edited by Brenda.

“It tells the story of ‘family’ through the lens of 73 testimonies – very rich testimonies – the 73 include: 6 couples; 2 families; 2 Religious Sisters; 9 priests; an Archbishop and a Bishop.

“Many were volunteers; more worked as part of the planning team at Clonliffe; some were diocesan delegates and others had roles with music or entertainment.

“This is a very honest book on family. It’s not pious or devotional; it’s not artifical or canned. It’s rooted, it’s grounded on the joys and sorrows of family life. I think of the theme of the WMOF – the ‘Joy of Family Life’ – this timely publication brings out the joys – but isn’t blind to the shadows, the shades of family life either.”

It was lovely to hear from some of those featured in the book too at the launch. Archbishop Okola joined us and spoke about how Pope Francis is doing. His presence with us was a lovely link back to The Holy Father in Rome.

Thanks to all who tuned in.

The book is available in all Veritas stores and on line, https://www.veritasbooksonline.com/humans-of-the-world-meetings-of-families-9781847308894-42775/
