  • Were all accustomed to hearing about prayer from mystics, preachers, and spiritual masters, but what if we could learn from listening to our children? In What Our Kids Teach Us About Prayer, Reverend Watkins looks at the struggles everyone endures as they try to pray and shows how children lead us out of those struggles with their candor, humor, and willingness to say absolutely whatever is on their minds.

About T. Wyatt Watkins Author, storyteller, and violinist T. Wyatt Watkins has a passion for communicating the beauty of things where it often remains concealed and uncelebrated. From weaving stories of frail but fascinating people, to resurrecting the meaning and majesty of hymns we once sang and cherished, to mining the unvarnished truth of things through the imaginative eyes of children, Wyatts performances achieve a high standard of elegance and intimacy. Interlaced with his stories are the exquisite strains of Wyatts violin, delivering renditions of old favorite tunes, as well as original compositions of many styles, and forming a seamless tapestry of sound. With words that sing and music that speaks with graceful clarity, Wyatt transports his audiences from the depths of soulful reflection to the heights of exuberant joy. Wyatt holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the renowned Indiana University School of Music and is a charter member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, now in its 21st season. An ordained American Baptist minister, he is the author of many books, including his upcoming, What Kids Teach Us About Prayer (Crossroad, New York, fall, 2005.) Wyatt resides in downtown Indianapolis with his spouse, Donna, their four children, and their golden retriever, Shadow.
