Modern relationships are more emotionally demanding than traditional roles. From a Christian and psychological point of view, empathy is needed. It is the intuitive ability to enter into and understand the inner world of another person and to communicate that understanding to him or her. This booklet looks at five important aspects of empathy in relationships:
The nature of empathy
Four degrees of empathy
Typical effects of empathy
Blocks to empathy
How to grow in empathy
Understanding Love should be helpful to anyone who would like to communicate more effectively with a spouse, relative, friend, colleague, neighbour or acquaintance.
