The Bridge is a new programme designed to help parents and families to explore and articulate their own faith, and to be more confident and involved in their child’s faith formation both during the preparation for First Holy Communion and beyond. It does this by offering a series of five sessions for parents, each of which focuses on different ways they can share faith with their families. These can be done as an Advent or Lenten initiative or may be scheduled every six weeks or so throughout the year, according to the needs and desires of the participants.Topics covered in the Faith Sessions are:
- Ten Ways to Help Your Family to Grow in Faith
- Making Mass Meaningful for You and Your Child
- Bible Stories for You and Your Child
- Teaching Your Child About Reconciliation
- Praying With Your Child
Separately, parishes can purchase a series of monthly bulletins for the children in their parish. Each bulletin gives concrete ways in which parents and families can practice faith in their own homes. To view the Bridge Bulletins, click here.
