Sometimes marginalized, patronized or overlooked, the vocation of motherhood is an essential, holy and important role. In her new book firstname.lastname@example.org, Catherine OConnell-Cahill offers a collection of ninety reflections for moms, each based on the daily occurrences and experiences of motherhood. Without glossing over the difficulties and stresses of mothering, she celebrates the spiritual dimensions of being a mom.
Each reflection focuses on typical events or circumstances that modern moms face on a daily basis, such as feeding children, forgiving offenses, and making it through the bad days of motherhood. For every reflection there is an inspirational quote or Scripture passage and a link to a website with practical advice on the issues discussed in the reflection.
There will also be a new website coming out in February 2005 (www.myspiritualgrowth.com) to go along with the book. The website will feature a reflection from the book that changes weekly, as well as links to all the websites mentioned in the book.
