Gerald Caron joined the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) in 1960 and was ordained a priest in 1965. After completing advanced studies in theology and scripture in Rome and in Jerusalem, he spent eleven years in Uganda, teaching Scripture to future priests. Upon his return to Canada in 1982, he obtained a DTh from Saint Paul University and PhD from Ottawa University. From 1988 to 2005 he was professor of scripture Studies at Atlantic School of Theology (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada). Though retired, he remains active, still doing some teaching, giving biblical sessions, and writing.
