An illustrated book of prayers in Irish.
This full-colour collection combines translations of well-known prayers with traditional Irish prayers. Illustrated with ink, brush and pen, it blends traditional styles and techniques with modern artistic influences. Drawing on the traditions of the Celtic monasteries, it mixes colour, simple knot work, ornamented capitals and calligraphy.
This beautiful, simple prayer book will make an ideal gift.
Nadia Kaczmarczuk is an established artist living in Donnegal. A member of the Columba Community, she finds her faith greatly influences her artistic work. She runs courses in both watercolour and calligraphy in the local area.
Nadia Kaczmarczuk, an artist now settled in Derry where she is involved with the Columba Community, has here created a little book of devotions that draws on very traditional Celtic designs. Each printed prayer in English is faced by an illuminated version of the Irish. Thus the book spans the centuries, but also provides a very appropriate set of prayers for life today, some very familiar some less well known. To many it will also provide another language for prayer. This little book will make an ideal gift for Easter or Confirmation, and should prove very popular.
