365 Days of Yes is a resource for daily prayer for all who want to make mission part of their daily life of prayer and worship.
365 Days of Yes offers daily bible readings, prayers and texts from a wide variety of voices old and new around the theme of mission and mission spirituality.
As well as providing a daily link for members and supporters of CMS, it offers a rich resource for the wider church.
Its purpose is to deepen a sense of distinctiveness and identity throughout the Community, with members and supporters from different strands of CMS (mission partners, pioneers, Encounter participants, members, supporters etc) using the resource to pray for one another and grow together in discipleship for mission.
It seeks to enable a learning and equipping community in which every member grows in discipleship and discovers a global perspective to the Christian faith.
Church Mission Society
CMS began in 1799, with a group of seemingly ordinary Christians in the UK whose hearts were stirred to put their faith into action. Together, they worked to abolish the slave trade, they fought for the rights of oppressed people at home and they launched out on dangerous seas to unknown lands to share Jesus with the world. The effects of all of this are still seen and felt today. The shape of mission has changed dramatically over the past two centuries, yet CMS members still share in the pioneering spirit of their founders. As a community of people in mission, they are committed to crossing boundaries, building relationships, sharing the gospel and long-term transformation. For some members of the community, this commitment is lived out overseas, but for thousands of CMS members, this passion for mission is conveyed locally in their everyday lives.
365 Days of Yes is a gift of the CMS community of mission to other Christians, perhaps especially to those who are looking for ways to relate their daily prayer to two fundamental dimensions of Christian existence: the reality of being part of Jesus' world-wide family and the responsibility to make hint known in every part of the world, including that part which is closest to us.
In this daily diet of prayer and devotion you will find yourself taken to a passage of scripture, given a short reflection and then led into prayer....
Throughout the 365 days of the year you will not only be praying with members of the Church Mission Society, you will be given a sense of the amazing span of the Church across the centuries and the continents ....
The passion that hinds all this variety together is the desire to be so grounded in the God of grace that we will grow daily into our calling to live in the grace of God and draw other people to Jesus Christ, so that they may say their yes to Jesus and to his way that leads to life.
- Christopher Cocksworth, Bishop of Coventry and Episcopal Visitor of CMS
